Set the origin of the coordinate system to the centroid of the part. Unwind the part with the origin as center. Choose an overlapping area by increasing the end angle. Keep the world coordinates by updating the metric. Cut a significant part and save it as a template. Deactivate or delete the cutting command and load the template instead. Find the significant part by correlation of the unwinded image and the template. The output image shows the correlation coefficent (similarity) of each pixel. Choose the anchor values half size of the template image. Find the maxima in the correlation image. Create a point cloud using the centroids of the maxima. Draw the points in the original image. The points fit due to the correct coordinate system handling. Sort the points by the x coordinate. Pick the first point in the point cloud. Rotate the axes of the coordinate system using the selected point. Finally transform the image to the center with constant orientation. Update the metric to keep the world coordinates. Move the part to check the alignment.
