Top 15 Best PS VITA Role-Playing Games | RPG

Whatoplay presents the Top 15 PS Vita Role-Playing
Games This ranking is based on a 1 to 10 scoring
system that aggregates – critic and gamer reviews into a unique score
called a PlayScore. As much as new reviews show up, and are added,
the PlayScore changes. Ranked 15 is Tales of Hearts R – The long awaited western release of this Nintendo
DS classic is a joyous time for J-RPG fans on the Vita. Combat is superb! It’s much like the other
games of the series. A mix of real-time action and RPG elements are used to bring about that
signature Tales action. And with an interesting story, it sure is a classic! A PlayScore of 8.05 – 14th is Hyperdimension Neptunia Re; Birth
2: Sisters Generation 14th is Hyperdimension Neptunia Re; Birth
2: Sisters Generation It’s more of the same Hyperdimension Neptunia
games. So… cute characters, hilarious dialogue and awesome music. It polishes what works
and trim out what doesn’t! The product is a light-hearted RPG that learned
from the mistakes of the previous releases… brimming with unlockables, bosses and quests.
Overall, it’s a well-balanced game and, probably, the best of the series. A PlayScore of 8.10 – At number 13 is Rainbow Moon At number 13 is Rainbow Moon Akin to the likes of Final Fantasy Tactics,
this game concentrates more on the basics of turn-based style of gaming. Despite the graphics being a bit cartoony
— clearly, the animation could have been better, the fundamentals are rock solid. Which
means gameplay is pretty good, tons of content, surprising for a downloadable game and the
combat and role-playing mechanics are spot on! A PlayScore of 8.13 – 12th place is Ar nosurge Plus: Ode to an Unborn
Star A PlayStation 3 port that works really well
in the tiny Vita console. The game excels with its interesting art style
and amazing soundtrack! Coupled with a gripping story that invites you to see it through till
the end! Just be prepared for the massive amount of
dialogs you have to read through! Ar nosurge Plus has a PlayScore of 8.16 – In number 11 is Freedom Wars As good as it looks. This game delivers exceptional
graphics, awesome combat style, good soundtrack, and a very satisfying multiplayer gameplay. Fight huge enemies by using grappling hooks
for vertical maneuvers and closing distances fast… quickly switching between melee and
ranged weapons! If not for the confusing crafting system,
it may have ranked higher on the list. Freedom Wars gets a PlayScore of 8.20. – Ranked 10 is Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines Ranked 10 is Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines This is an unusual game… with an interesting
plot, propelled by slightly complex mechanics. Gorgeous watercolor art style that combines
anime and traditional Japanese imagery, a deep family lineage system, impressive customization
and a solid turn-based RPG combat. It’s not the first game to offer customizable
characters but the game’s interesting story made the task worthwhile — even enjoyable,
despite being time consuming! A PlayScore of 8.25 9th place is Toukiden Kiwami It has a lot of similarities with games of
the Monster Hunter series. The differences is that it’s more fast-paced, mythical, sinister
and complete. It comes with a meaningful story, good cutscenes
and NPC relationship, tons of bonus content like owning a pet, new weapons, and a good
co-op gameplay. However, the sheer number of dialogs is so
J-RPG-like and grind is the real deal! A PlayScore of 8.30 – 8th is Atelier Ayesha Plus: The Alchemist
of Dusk 8th is Atelier Ayesha Plus: The Alchemist
of Dusk A deep and engrossing role-playing game that
gives emphasis to gathering materials and crafting. It’s time consuming, yes… but
that doesn’t dampen the fun experience that it offers. Good story and character progression, it looks
great on the PS Vita. Engaging crafting & alchemy system and it comes packaged with crazy amount
of DLCs The Alchemist of Dusk has a PlayScore is 8.41 – Number 7 is The Legend of Heroes: Trails of
Cold Steel Number 7 is The Legend of Heroes: Trails of
Cold Steel The game doesn’t add much to the RPG genre.
It took what worked and put it back together as solidly as possible. It’s not revolutionary
but it’s amazing! There are a lot of things to do! Good balance
between RPG and simulation. The fast travel option is a really good addition
as well as cross-save for Vita and PS3 owners. A PlayScore of 8.48 – Ranked 6th is Child of Light Ranked 6th is Child of Light This is one good-looking game. It looks like
something from an art exhibit, carefully animated to look magnificent. Child of Light does away with cumbersome battle
features, aiming for a more straightforward and refined turn-based combat system. Some
found it short for an RPG but majority agrees that the length is just right to conclude
its compelling plot. This gorgeous Disney-like adventure has a
PlayScore of 8.58. – 5th place is Muramasa Rebirth 5th place is Muramasa Rebirth Dark times have befallen feudal Japan, as
cursed demon blades attack humans causing destruction to all. Muramasa Rebirth might not be your typical
rpg, but for the most part, the game taught me how to not be rash, and think before you
fight. Cleverly ration your items, create strategies, and alot stat points on the right
places. A PlayScore of 8.61 – Number 4 is Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited Number 4 is Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited As addicting as ever! This fourth installment
has been a bumpy ride of raising weak followers and customizing every weapon that I found
interesting. The same strategic grid-based combat that
you love, plus a new function called “Demon Fuse”, which temporarily combine your monsters
into one bigger, meaner monster. The tutorial may be trash, but you can’t deny
the quality that it has. A PlayScore of 8.71. – 3rd is Ys: Memories of Celceta 3rd is Ys: Memories of Celceta A story about finding what’s lost. It’s a
game that rewards you for mastering moves, very action RPG-like. Despite the lack of
an engrossing story, it’s still worth playing for the exploration and combat! Good battle soundtrack, slightly dated, but
pleasing graphics. Sadly, the linearity decreased the game’s
lifespan and is a minus for some. Ys: Memories of Celceta gets a PlayScore of
8.72 – Ranked number 2 is Dragon’s Crown Ranked number 2 is Dragon’s Crown A game that looks like it came out of pen
and paper and Vanillaware’s best rpg yet! Dragon’s Crown is an action-packed side-scroller
that some hesitantly label as rpg. However, with its deep skill system, multiple classes
to choose from, solid loot feature and a beautiful art style. There’s no doubt that it’s one of unique and
gorgeous roleplaying games of the platform. A PlayScore of 8.74 – Stay tuned for the Runners-Up, right after
we reveal the Number One. Stay tuned for the Runners-Up, right after
we reveal the Number One. – And the best is Persona 4 Golden! And the best is Persona 4 Golden! A game so good that many gamers around the
world have probably played it at least twice. This game perfectly represents the J-RPG sub-genre
of roleplaying games with a brilliant story full of high school life, humor, and mystery.
Memorable, attachable, and relatable characters. Fantastic dialogues, wide variety of Personas,
turn-based J-RPG at its finest and a massive 40-60 hour campaign. Persona 4 Golden gets a PlayScore of 9.34 – And here are the Runners-Up… And here are the Runners-Up…

  1. I was considering vita but ended up buying 3ds. I played fire emblem, bravely default, pokemon, and rune factory 4 on it and I loved it. I think I made the right decision. After having 3ds for a while, seeing vita games feels……… meh.

  2. Just curious, but what's the play score for Stranger of Sword City? Love that game. Great classic style dungeon crawler IMO.

  3. Odin Sphere is kinda new this year in Vita. What is the play score you be willing to give on this game? Just curious.

  4. wow, conception 2 got 29th place? -_- i got it on the 3ds, and its pretty shit. the big problem -> even 20 hours into the game, the diverse skills and abilities are absolutely pointless. the game just churns weak monsters at you, and even the bosses i encountered were pretty meh. after a while, i just put on autocombat, ran through the dungeons with some healing in between hoping it would get better at some point

  5. does persona 4 golden really that good?
I've seen a lot of videos like this already and some reviews and the game is rated really high.
If its really the case, I'll try it soon to find out. I'm not really a fan of JRPGs, I played a few, just played what really interests me.

  6. how's that the British should have some sports games on it flights from NBA games I still like playing NBA on the PSP 3000 and I think the video would really do good sports games online

  7. If you are looking for RPGs on the vita there are some final fantasy games on there. There all ports/remakes (some available physically) except for World of FF.

  8. Rainbow Moon is great. Basically it's the sidequests that make up the main quest which I like. The story is meh, but it's fun to improve your party and complete sidequests. Can't wait for Skies… I swear it was suppose to come out at least a year ago. wth…

  9. Hey again, whatoplay. I have a 3 Vita games here and i'm wondering if you can tell me their Playscores?
    Gravity Rush
    Wipeout 2048
    J-STARS Victory V.S.+

  10. Would I enjoy Persona 4 golden?

The jrpgs I like are Tales of the Abyss (The Tales series is actually my favorite game series), Pokemon, Fire Emblem Awakening, Dragon Quest VII 3ds, etc.

  11. too many jrpg bull crap both on ps vita and 3ds.. i just wishes that microsoft created a portable console already so we can play more western games portable!

  12. Persona? that's not even a game..they hhave the same shitty over and over from all the games..oh well..if fifa fans exists..then persona fans are normal.

  13. i disgree …!!! wheres the soul sacrifice ? exist archive ? god eater 2? world of final fantasy? they that i have told have the best grafics .. moves tatics ..history… the best scenary…EFECTS visual and sonds…

  14. Hey there, im looking for sth. like a mage-rgp game, should be 3rd person, maybe with endlless story or online or sth like that. Could recommend any game ? I know its just ps vita and no ps4, but im a big skyrim fan, so maybe there is anything like that.
greatings from germany 🙂 ps: i know … a lot of requirements 😛

  15. In freedom wars you fight the same enemy's in the same areas with the same missions save the citizen save the citizens , the game is only 1.8 gB put two and two together you have a boring game trust me don't buy it I was so sad when I wanted to love it so much but it was total junk

  16. Realy? Isnt there any better games than those JRPG? Is there anything like Skyrim for PSVita? Cause I would like to buy it but if theres just games like this I would rather play Baldurs gate on my phone lol

  17. Don't bother with silly playscores. That's so subjective. It's like you only care for imdb scores or metacritic scores. Both sources aren't taken seriously.

  18. toukiden kiwami over Freedom Wars lol… first of all for music Freedom Wars is way better they got the guy that did patapon. For different gameplay. freedom wars has pvp. also the grapple of freedom wars was so good that toukiden 2 now has that mechanic.

  19. You know I like your style not doing it because of personal biased but play scores. This is one of the best

  20. Was Trails of Cold steel II out when you made this, cause it is really good. and Trails in the Sky SC is awesome.

  21. Don't think it's any surprise that P4G is number 1. It's topped every critic and fan made Vita list since it came out. Vita list from this point on may as well list P4G followed by whatever other games rank below it on the list.

  22. Vita gamers are like car lovers, we are a specific audience with specific tastes and gladly we still got plenty of titles to go through and yes, they keep coming out!

  23. So this bitch narrating has NEVER played any of these games, and probably doesn't even own any kind of console or handheld. (You can tell she hasn't played anything, and didn't write the script as she can't even say FF Tactics properly, she's reading it off like she was only expecting the game name to only have 2 words, but realized it had tactics on the end, listen again) AND she's reading off of a script written by a man. Can i ask why a fucking woman who CLEARLY knows nothing about ANY of the games on this list was hired to Narrate someone elses script? She didn't write the script, a MAN did it. Yet she has a job because she's a woman? ffs.
That's like me getting a job in Shoes or Bags or Makeup with ZERO experience, just because they wanted a guy reading the scripts a bunch of women wrote. FUCK this world man.

  24. guys sell your newer Vita and seek out one of the originals, they have a FAR superior screen with much higher resolution, color and image quality. I did it and never looked back

  25. fucking tired of seeing it in every single fucking vita video, its a fucking HISCHOOL ANIME GAME WITH AN 80'S RPG COMBAT SYSTEM.
If anything the SMT: IV is a million times better, and probably the only Persona game that doesn't have the highschool garbage.

  26. From my experience, Child of Light does NOT deserve to be on this list LOL I'm sorry, I really thought that game was too basic and incomplete.

  27. Somehow people forget that PS Vita natively runs PSP games and you can also play Persona 3 Portable. Which is as brilliant as Persona 4 Golden
